For I Am Weak
How we deceive ourselves when we think we are strong!
And this deception is often deep and is sometimes life-long!
Weaknesses are revealed in the circumstances of life,
We must address them or we may be overcome by strife.
There must be candid confession that we are truly weak,
Our bones are troubled and to God we hardly speak.
Only when we confess our utter wretchedness to God,
Can we hope that we would be healed by the Lord!
Weakness helps us to recognise the state of our soul,
How we need to seek the Lord to make us truly whole.
Tears bring about a weariness that drains our strength,
We must seek God’s help to deal with weaknesses at length.
Thank God that there are abundant mercies to be found,
The Lord can stretch His hand out and make us sound.
The Lord will hear the cry of His weak and erring child,
He will deliver us from the wolves that are in the wild.
