BLESSED IS THE LORD GOD
(A Communion Poem)
Being filled with the Spirit brings inspiration;
The heart and mind are lifted up with adoration.
There is deeper understanding of God’s grace;
The soul desires to seek the Lord’s holy face.
The Lord has planned our salvation from eternity;
He revealed this plan when Jesus donned humanity.
The plan of redemption is deep and profound;
Only by the Spirit can deep understanding be found.
Salvation is not often appreciated in its fulness;
The heart must desire to seek great faithfulness.
The filling of the Spirit of God is what we need;
When understanding comes, we are blessed indeed!
The heart cannot but cry out, “Blessed is the Lord God;”
All true brethren proclaim this truth with one accord!
How wonderful and great is the love of our Saviour;
May we grow in faith and wisdom and in His favour!
