Hosanna
“Hosanna”- This was a cry for salvation from the soul,
It is a cry of deep longing to be made perfectly whole.
This cry for help is made to the Lord for salvation,
And God graciously answers and sends redemption.
God sent His Son to be the Saviour of a world steeped in sin,
He came to earth, showing love and offering cleansing from within.
He taught, He corrected, He healed and His powers were amazing to all,
His brave entrance to Jerusalem caused many, on Him, to call.
“Hosanna”- was a call of recognition of Jesus’ Divine identity,
He had indeed come from heaven, from sin to set men free.
He had come as the Messiah, in the mighty name of the Lord,
Those who received Him would be fully reconciled to God.
There were many in the Temple of Jerusalem that glorious day,
The blind and the lame were there, they came without delay.
Jesus healed all who came Him with the great power of the Lord,
All who came were made well, for such was the mercy of God.
There were also children in the holy Temple who saw what Jesus did,
Their hearts were moved and they cried out that He was “the Son of David.”
Their innocent hearts cried out, “Hosanna,” for they believed in the Lord,
Jesus was indeed the Saviour of the world and He had been sent by God!
