THE LOVE WITH WHICH YOU LOVED ME
What would you be conscious of if death lurks nearby?
What would your thoughts be as you prepare to die?
Two special and precious things stood out as pillars at the end,
The name of God and His love helped Him, all fears to withstand.
God’s mighty name was revealed to the patriarchs of old,
Many great stories of His power from ancient days were told.
Jesus treasured the name of His Father as no one ever could
He sought to teach all to honour His name as they should.
The name of God was so mighty it can make a person whole,
It was this love that filled His own heart and mind and soul.
This love He now prayed that His disciples would own,
Then would they be able to withstand even fears unknown.
“The love with which You loved Me…” A precious thought,
And dwelling on God’s love, great strength brought.
His last prayer was that with this love, His own, might be filled,
Then would the disciples know that Jesus loved them still.
