THAT THEY MAY BEHOLD MY GLORY

THAT THEY MAY BEHOLD MY GLORY

The prayers of Jesus revealed the purest heart,
Sin had never been allowed to affect the slightest part.
Only a heart of great love could have prayed as He did,
Such simple words were used, but yet profound indeed.

At the end of His prayer, He tenderly made a request clear,
That His disciples may be with Him in heaven’s sphere.
He would never take for granted the work they would do,
He would remember them and certainly reward them too.

The world had rejected God even though Jesus came,
The sinful would reject Him to their everlasting shame.
But the disciples had known God’s precious name,
They would bring to God all glory and honour and fame,

They would behold the glory God had wonderfully given Him,
They would see a land where no eye would ever grow dim.
What a glorious conclusion to a truly profound prayer,
How moved our hearts must be when Jesus prayed.
