FATHER, THE HOUR HAS COME

FATHER, THE HOUR HAS COME

“Father…” This was always the way Jesus spoke to God,
This word represented His deep relationship with the Lord.
It was always “Father” as He spoke to the multitude,
This was the best approach, with the right attitude.

The Father had given a prophetic word to His beloved Son,
The hour of great suffering will certainly come.
He must with all His heart prepare for that Hour,
God promised that on Him, His glory, He will shower.

“Father, the hour has come…” these words were tenderly said,
Jesus had prepared well, His heart was not in the least afraid.
Even as He breathed these words, His mind was fixed on God’s will,
His Father’s Presence and His love, kept His heart still.

It was not suffering that Jesus focused on, but the glory of God,
As Son, He had always sought to bring glory to the Lord.
Now in the face of suffering and certain death,
This would be His thought to the very last breath.

The Hour had come when God’s plan of salvation would be done,
Then the battle against sin and Satan would be finally won.
The Hour of death must be courageously faced,
For only then can the impact of sin be totally effaced.
