ANOTHER HELPER
Jesus was sent by God to fulfill many a role,
He was the Lamb of God who could make one whole.
He was the Teacher whose knowledge no one could surpass,
His authority and power made even His enemies gasp.
He preached and healed the sick who were brought to Him,
But He sought disciples who would treasure His word within.
He would teach them great truths about the Kingdom of God,
These would be empowered to preach the word of the Lord.
But soon the earthly ministry of Jesus would come to an end,
This understanding brought sorrow to the hearts of His friends.
Jesus was not perturbed for He knew that God had a great plan,
He would send the Holy Spirit, the greatest boon to man!
The Spirit of God had been Jesus’ source of power,
Soon He would be given at the Pentecostal Hour.
He would be Another Helper to the disciples forever more,
He would guide them till they reached Heaven’s shore.
The world does not know Him because they do not believe,
God’s plan of salvation through Jesus they would not receive.
But to those who love the Master because of faith in the heart,
They would receive the Spirit of God that Jesus imparts.
John 14:16
