THEY SAW HIS SIGNS
The multitudes came, a bustling energetic crowd,
They followed Jesus and were noisy and rather loud.
They followed Him because they saw His signs,
But they had never understood God’s designs.
They followed Him because they were entertained,
Every miracle Jesus performed caused many to exclaim.
Who was this Man who could perform such deeds?
Could He be our King to fight the Roman steeds?
Jesus looked at the multitudes and He knew what He had to do,
He would first test His disciples and feed the multitudes too.
“Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”
His disciples were astonished that He would consider this feat!
A little lad had brought along his food, and offered to share,
Five small loaves and two small fish- that seemed rather bare.
Jesus took the loaves and the fish and bade the multitudes sit,
His disciples would give them sufficient food for all to eat.
The disciples were astonished as they gave out food,
They were surprised that all said the food was good.
There was sufficient food for five thousand men,
After Jesus had blessed the food and said “Amen.”
The disciples learned yet another deep lesson,
Jesus was indeed the Bread of Heaven!
Their faith in the Lord Jesus had further grown,
They must ever, with faith, turn to Jesus alone.
