MY FATHER
Jesus spoke of God as His Father in the most tender of ways
His enemies could not understand and rejected all that He says.
Perhaps more explanation was needed, for all to comprehend,
God was indeed Father to Him, and to all who to Him attend.
The Son carefully observes what the Father is doing,
And motivated by love, He seeks to do His bidding.
Sometimes to preach, and other times to teach,
The point of it all was to fulfill Heaven’s outreach.
There is a deep love between the Father and Son,
This love is so deep that they are truly One.
The Father delights in this relationship so rare,
The love between them is like rarified air.
The Father has determined that all should honour the Son,
He who does not honour Jesus would become undone.
As the Father has life in Himself, so He decrees,
Jesus could give eternal life to all that He is pleased.
God has also given His Son heaven’s full authority,
He could forgive or pronounce deadly penalty.
The Father would always stand by the Son of His love,
Those who understand Jesus would see the Father above.
