LORD, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO?

LORD, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO?

The multitudes came seeking to force Jesus to be their King,
Jesus declined for His focus was not on earthly things.
The crowds listened but soon became disenchanted with what Jesus said,
They did not understand, they did not care about the Living Bread.

They soon left Him for His heavenly focus they could not endure,
This caused Jesus to ask His remaining disciples if their faith was sure.
Peter swiftly answered for himself and for all his friends,
They would follow Jesus and be loyal to the very end.

Lord, to whom shall we go? Peter said aloud,
He was not impressed with the departing crowd.
They had followed Jesus and they had seen His life,
His whole Being was calm, without the least sense of strife!

Peter went on to speak of a conviction sure,
Their faith in Jesus, that was certainly secure.
Jesus had the words of eternal life, they had come to believe,
All their past fears of judgment Jesus had relieved.

The disciples could say with full and strong conviction,
Jesus was the Son of God who had brought great redemption.
The promise of eternal life in God’s Kingdom was His to give,
Jesus asked that God’s salvation they receive!
