A FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER
The problem of thirst comes up again and again,
The thought of the long walk to fetch water deepens the pain.
If only one can quench thirst and never be in need,
How wonderfully blissful life would be indeed!
What strange words the Man uttered that hot sunny day,
Yet those words brought hope to a heart that had known decay.
“Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give will never thirst again”
If that is true then the heart will be able to sing a glad refrain!
Imagine a fountain of water that never runs dry,
That thought alone would cause the heart to cry!
This was what the Man promised to all who would believe
Could simple faith in Jesus truly bring such relief?
The soul is stirred, the heart reaches out in love
And discovers that the source of living water is from above.
The heart cannot contain the joy, it must be shared,
The good news of a fountain of living water must be declared.
