My Strength My Fortress
The challenges of life can be most trying to the soul,
Blessed is the person who is truly made whole.
Strength and protection are promised by God,
Wise is the person who, in faith, turns to the Lord.
Can a person find strength to cope in the day of affliction?
Thank God for faith to find grace from divine compassion.
The Lord will not spare us from the conflicts common in life,
But He promises grace amidst the worst of human strife.
God has always been the fortress of all who serve Him well,
Time and again He has delivered from the snares of hell.
The commitment of God to provide will always be upheld,
This truth should make the heart of His servant most glad!
Vain is the help that is promised from the rich and the powerful,
Glorious is the help that comes from God, for that is truly wonderful!
Wise is the person who discovers that God is his strength and fortress,
He does not need to be afraid of all the evil that threatens to encompass!
