I WILL GIVE THEM A HEART TO KNOW ME
That the human heart is desperately wicked is a fact we cannot deny,
Forsaking the LORD- this terrible sin brings great drops of tears to the eye!
How merciful the LORD is, when He said, “I will give them a heart to know Me.”
How the heart is lifted up at this promise, for we need a transforming reality!
The new heart that God will give is one that will know Him as the LORD,
How wonderful it would be if we were to learn afresh how to relate to God!
The old ways of wretched perpetual backsliding must go completely,
Then will we be able to appreciate the LORD our God in a new reality!
A new paradigm is created in this new relationship with the LORD,
We must return to Him with our whole heart, fearing Him as God!
The LORD offers a second chance to be His people who are sanctified,
This is possible only because of Jesus, who for us, was cruelly crucified!
How the heart must yearn now to be filled with gratitude and love,
This promise is precious and it truly comes from Heaven above!
The LORD still desires to be our God and that must humble our soul,
He is able to cleanse us from all our sins and make us truly whole!
