HOSANNA!

Jesus prepared Himself to visit the city of Jerusalem again,

There was little to be desired, there was much to disdain!

He had cleansed the Temple once before because of its many sins!

He would have to do it once again, for the Temple should be clean!

How would He enter the royal city, Jerusalem this time round?

How could He help the people know that God could make it sound?

He would enter the City as the Messiah, the rightful King,

All who recognized Him would surely make the city sing!

He could have ridden on a mighty charger full of life and power;

He could have a thousand angels ride beside Him in that glorious hour!

But instead He chose to ride into Jerusalem on a humble foal,

He determined that He would fulfil the Scriptures as a whole!

Would the daughter of Zion recognize their King garbed in gentle humility?

How many would know that the Messiah had come to give life for eternity?

Jesus rode into the royal city, greeted by humble cries of “Hosanna!”

He had indeed come to save His people from their sins! “Hallelujah!”
