The Glory Of God Seen In His Mercies
What does a sinful man deserve from a holy God?
He deserves no more than the anger of the Lord!
God has the right to chasten His erring child,
His wrath is fully justified, even it is not mild!
What can the sinful man do but to plead the mercy of God?
He knows his weaknesses and that he is nothing but a piece of sod!
He does not deserve any blessing, for he has utterly failed!
Only the mercies of God, over his sin, could ever prevail!
The heart of the sinful man is crushed by the weight of his sin,
He pleads for mercies abundant, for cleansing from deep within.
The soul of the sinner is bowed and in tears he pleads with his God,
Would there be full forgiveness from heaven’s most glorious Lord?
The sinful man groans under the weight of his terrible sin,
He weeps, and his tears make him look forlorn and lean.
God hears and He sees the heart and He is moved to show love,
This is still His child; He will show His glory, in forgiveness from above!
