IF THESE SHOULD KEEP SILENT

The Disciples of Christ were filled with excitement;

Jesus rode into Jerusalem for prophetic fulfilment.

The prophet Zechariah had foretold this glorious Day;

The Anointed King would lead them all the way.

They had seen His power heal the sick and raise the dead;

They had sought to comprehend all that He had said.

Though there were gaps in their understanding still;

They believed that Jesus was the King in God’s Will.

There were people who had objected to their cries of praise;

These had opposed Jesus and their voices they would not raise.

But the response of their Master and Lord cut short their shout;

“If these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

The Disciples could not and would not keep silent about their King;

Into the Kingdom of God, Jesus sought out humble souls to bring.

The Disciples came from humble backgrounds before their Call;

To their Lord and King, they would present and give their all!
