THE LORD WILL STILL CHOOSE ISRAEL
People are written off when they are steeped in sin,
Even the family is stretched and faces become grim!
Was there hope for Israel who had dishonoured God?
Would there be any hope of redemption from the LORD?
The LORD Himself gave the answer loud and clear,
God “will have mercy on Jacob,” for he is still dear!
What a thrill of hope, reaching to the depth of the soul;
Only a great God, full of mercy, can make one whole!
“The LORD will still choose Israel,” was the word proclaimed;
How the nation must weep with joy at this wondrous refrain!
Here was a nation that had sunk to its lowest depth of shame,
But God offers mercy so that all may rejoice in His holy name!
God will still choose to bless as He had promised before,
He will not hold back all the blessings that He swore!
What a great and glorious Redeemer we have in God,
There is no one like Him, with such mercy, as our LORD!
