WITH GOD I HAVE HOPE

In life, some people can be very mean

And I used keep to myself so as to not make a scene

I repeated in my head again and again to stay strong

Although I knew this act wouldn’t last for long

But why choose to just cope when we can thrive

I never knew how much i would change with God in my life

He brings comfort and strength to my heart every new day

And he is with me each step of the way

There’s no need to fear the darkness in life that makes me weary

The word of God is always there to keep me from feeling dreary

For on my own, I struggle only to get by

But the Lord leads me to the rock that is higher than I

There’s no need to act tough or even try to bluff

The Lord loves us even though we are diamonds in the rough

Although when I’m on my own I can cope,

But with God in my life, I have hope
