AWAKE AND SING!
Many fear the dreaded thought of death;
They are gripped by fear of the last breath.
They are unable to come up from the dust;
There they dwell and thus their soul rusts.
The challenge is to find a faith that is alive;
It is a faith that is vibrant and it thrives.
This faith is found believing in the Resurrection;
This is what God offers when He gives Salvation.
In ancient times, this knowledge was not well-known;
Work is needed to water the seed of faith that is sown.
Isaiah the prophet was one of those who had this knowledge;
His faith in God was carefully employed to great advantage.
He could call upon people to awake and sing to the LORD;
There was no reason to despair if there is faith in a living God!
This was the faith that had been cultivated when was cleansed;
There was no looking back and his faith had been recompensed.
