Behold, God Is My Salvation

The land lay quietly, hushed by fear of the enemy,

The threat of warm loomed larger frighteningly.

Is there salvation to be hoped for from the Lord?

But the burden of sin had not been confessed to God!

There is a greater fear that anger from God would prevail,

Then all would be lost, and horse and chariot would not avail.

Has the Lord turned away His anger, is there any sign?

There must be pleading with the Lord; He is good and kind!

Though God nursed anger He has turned away from that,

He draws near now, and He offers a comforting chat!

Behold, God is truly my salvation, now I can rejoice,

The fear is taken away and the terrible doubtful voice.

The LORD has become my source of strength again,

My soul has been cleansed and I am right as rain!

There is no God like the LORD our blessed Rock,

He can break the strongest chain and lock!
