The Angels Candle
Mighty angels make up the glorious “hosts of the LORD,”
They stand in splendid battle array, ready to serve God.
They stand before the heavenly throne singing His glory,
They will go anywhere they are sent; they are always ready.
The mighty Angel Gabriel was sent to Zacharias who lived in piety,
He was also sent to bring a message to Mary who lived in simplicity.
Another Angel declared the birth of Christ to shepherds in the cold,
A whole host of Angels sang together in harmony, strong and bold.
The Angels Candle reminds us that we are not alone in life,
The Angels are our guardians, in a world full of hostile strife.
They attend to us faithfully, for this is the loving will of God.
This Word should bring great joy to all who believe in the Lord.
Four Candles are lit at Advent, each one brings special delight,
Taken together, we truly have profound and precious insight.
We have every reason to celebrate Christmas with pure joy,
This glorious happiness is ours to own, untainted by sin’s alloy.
