LEAVING US AN EXAMPLE
Many of us struggle when we have to undergo suffering;
We chafe, we groan, and sometimes we resort to threatening!
We feel that life is unfair and we do not need to suffer;
We see little or no meaning in what pain has to offer.
The Example of the Lord Jesus must come to mind;
He committed Himself to His Father, the Judge Divine.
He trusted the LORD’s great plan of salvation.
His suffering was part of the plan of redemption.
He was reviled but He rejected retaliation;
He had come to offer full reconciliation.
He suffered severely in body and soul;
He remembered that He came to make man whole.
Have we gone astray as sheep who are foolish?
The great Shepherd, our Overseer, let us cherish.
He can bring about the healing of our soul;
His suffering made it possible for us to become whole.
