Led By The Spirit
The eternal Holy Spirit descended on Jesus as a gentle dove,
He was sent by God to equip Jesus with power from above.
He would fill Jesus with power in heart and mind and soul,
He would be fully equipped, and be wonderful and bold.
The tasks ahead demanded that Jesus must learn to yield,
Jesus must comprehend the many aspects of the Lord’s will.
He must learn to follow even if it means to be in the wilderness,
He will then learn what it means to trust with great consciousness.
Total isolation, far from the contact of precious human souls,
This was part of God’s plan, how deeply profound and bold!
Jesus would have no one to speak to except His Father in heaven,
His only Friend would be the Holy Spirit in very close communion.
The environment would be harsh, very cold at night and hot in the day,
The Spirit of God would strengthen Him so that He would not feel dismay!
Filled by the Holy Spirt, for a full forty days and nights, was what God planned,
Jesus understood why He must experience all these things as the Son of Man.
