THREE SOBERING STATEMENTS

1. God gave then up (Romans 1:26)

2. God gave them up (Romans 1:26)

3. God gave them over to a debased mind (Romans 1:28)

REASONS FOR THIS JUDGMENT OF GOD

1. Therefore God gave them up (Romans 1:24)

a) To uncleanness
b) The lusts of the heart
c) To dishonour their bodies among themselves

2. Who are these people? (Romans 1:25)

a) These have exchanged the truth for the lie
b) They worship and serve the creature rather than the Creator

3. God gave them up Romans 1:26

a) To vile passions
b) Homosexuality
i) Lesbianism
Women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature
ii) Homosexuality
Likewise, also the men
Leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in the lust for one another
c) Judgment
Receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due

4. God gave them over (Romans 1:28)

a) To a debased mind
b) To do the things which are not fitting

5. A list of sins (Romans 1:29-32)

a) Filled with all unrighteousness
b) Sexual immorality
c) Wickedness
d) Covetousness
e) Maliciousness
f) Full of envy
g) Murder
h) Strife
i) Deceit
j) Evil-mindedness
k) Whisperers
l) Backbiters
m) Haters of God
n) Violent
o) Proud
p) Boasters
q) Inventors of evil things
r) Disobedient to parents
s) Undiscerning
t) Untrustworthy
u) Unloving
v) Unforgiving
w) Unmerciful

6. Even worse

a) Knowing the righteous judgment of God
b) That those who practise such things are worthy of death
c) Not only do the same
d) But also approve of those who practise them
