REVIEW OF DOCTRINES IN ROMANS II

4. THE DOCTRINE OF FAITH

a) Faith in contrast to works
By the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight (Romans 3:20)
b) Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22)
c) Faith in the propitiation of God by the blood of Christ
The redemption that is in Christ Jesus
Whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith (Romans 3:24-25)
d) Faith in God as the Justifier
That He might be just and the justifier of the one
Who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:26)
e) The law of faith (Romans 3:27)
Faith is described as “law”
f) Justified by faith apart from the law
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith
Apart from the deeds of the law (Romans 3:28)
i) God will justify the circumcised by faith (Romans 3:30a)
ii) And the uncircumcised through faith (Romans 3:30b)
g) Faith establishes the law
Do we make void the law through faith?
Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law (Romans 3:31)
h) Faith is accounted for righteousness
But to him who does not work but believes on Him
who justifies the ungodly,
his faith is accounted to him for righteousness (Romans 4:5)
For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham
for righteousness (Romans 4:9)
i) Faith does not conflict with grace
Therefore, it is of faith that it might be
according to grace (Romans 4:16)
j) Imputation of righteousness through faith
It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him
who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead (Romans 4:24)
k) Ramifications of our faith in God
i) Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1)
ii) Access by faith into this grace in which we stand (Romans 5:1)
iii) To rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:2)
