FLESH AND BLOOD

1. Man may be described as “flesh and blood” (Hebrews 2:14a)

2. He Himself likewise shared in the same (Hebrews 2:14b; John 1:14)

EXPERIENCING DEATH

1. Man would experience death

2. He shared the experience of death

3. Through death He might destroy him
Who had the power of death (Hebrews 2:14c)

RELEASED FROM THE POWER OF SATAN

1. Satan controls man through his fear of death (Hebrews 2:15a)

a) Man is subject to the Evil One
b) He fears death
c) He is subject in bondage to the Devil for all his life (Hebrews 2:15b)

2. Released from this power

a) He has destroyed the power of the Devil
b) He has released man from fear of death (Hebrews 2:15)

AID FROM GOD THE FATHER

1. He does not give aid to His angels (Hebrews 2:16a)

2. He gives aid to the seed of Abraham (Hebrews 2:16b)

MADE LIKE HIS BRETHREN

1. He had to be made like His brethren (Hebrews 2:17a)

2. That He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest (Hebrews 2:17b)

a) In things pertaining to God (Hebrews 2:17c)
b) To make propitiation (Hebrews 2:17d)
c) For the sins of the people (Hebrews 2:17e)

3. He is able to aid those who are tempted having Himself suffered and tempted (Hebrews 2:18)
