THE RECIPIENTS OF THE EPISTLE TO THE HEBREWS

1. Well-known to the author

2. But we are not informed as to who they were

3. Affirmative words of encouragement given

a) This enables us to understand what these believers were like
b) There are common traits that are found in the lives of true believers
i) Faith and love for all the saints (Ephesians 1:15)
ii) Faith in Christ and love for all the saints (Colossians 1:4)
iii) Work of faith and labour of love (1 Thessalonians 1:3a)
v) Patience of hope (1 Thessalonians 1:3b)

THINGS THAT ACCOMPANY SALVATION

1. Salvation if it is true will always be bring forth fruit

2. Some fruits mentioned:

a) Your work and labour of love (Hebrews 6:10a)
b) Shown to His name (Hebrews 6:10b)
c) Ministered to the saints (Hebrews 6:10c)
d) And do minister (Hebrews 6:10d)

A FURTHER WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

1. We desire that each of you show the same diligence (Hebrews 6:11a)

2. To the full assurance of hope until the end (Hebrews 6:11b)

3. That you do not become sluggish (Hebrews 6:12a)

4. But imitate those:

a) Who through faith
b) And patience (perseverance)
c) Inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:12c)
