(I) EVERY REASON TO TRUST IN GOD

1. God is our strong refuge (Psalm 71:3)

2. God is our Rock and our Fortress (Psalm 71:3)

3. God is our certain Hope (Psalm 71:5)

(II) EVERY REASON TO REJOICE IN GOD

1. Because He has upheld us from birth (Psalm 71:6)

2. Because He has clearly proven to be our hope from youth (Psalm 71:5)

3. Because God is very righteous (Psalm 71:19)

4. Because God has done great things (Psalm 71:19)

(III) CHOOSING TO REJOICE IN GOD AMIDST TRIALS OF LIFE

1. There are trials of life

a) When strength ebbs in old age ( Psalm 71:9 )

b) When enemies attack ( Psalm 71:10-11 )

2. Choosing to pray

a) For God to be near at hand ( Psalm 71:12 )

b) To have hope continually ( Psalm 71:14 )

c) To have strength ( Psalm 71:16 )

3. Choosing to rejoice in the Lord

a) To sing about the faithfulness of God ( Psalm 71:22 )

b) To sing about God’s redemption ( Psalm 71:23 )

c) To sing about God’s righteousness ( Psalm 71:24 )
