(I) DEPTH OF APPRECIATION OF THE LORD’S GREAT LOVE

1. God drawing close to us

“For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?” Deuteronomy 4:7

2. God’s provision of His messenger to us

“I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord….” Deuteronomy 5:5

“You go near and hear all that the Lord our God may say, and tell us all that the Lord our God says to you, and we will hear and do it.” Deuteronomy 5:27

(II) CONSIDERING THE KIND OF RESPONSE TO GOD’S GREAT LOVE

1. Deepening our love for God

 “You shall love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5

2. Adding another aspect – A reasoned love for God

“And you shall love the Lord Your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:29

“Therefore you shall love the Lord your God,…” Deuteronomy 11:1

(IV) PRACTICAL EXPRESSIONS OF LOVING THE LORD GOD

1. Lovingly Adhering to the word of God   

“Therefore, you shall love the Lord your God and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments and His commandments always .  Know today…” Deuteronomy 11:1-2

2. Earnestly Increasing our Service to God  

“And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and all your soul…” Deuteronomy 11:13

3. Carefully holding fast to the Lord  

“For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do-to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to hold fast to Him“ Deuteronomy 11:22
