THE GLORY OF GOD AT MOUNT SINAI

THE GLORY OF GOD REVEALED TO THE SHEPHERDS

1. Glory of God associated with angels

2. Form of glory was light that shone   (Luke 2:9)

THE FEAR OF THE SHEPHERDS

1. Angels

a) Powerful beings   (Isaiah 6; Ezekiel 1)
b) They stand before God

2. Fear

a) Regard for a more powerful being
b) Reverence because these were angels of God

GLORY OF THE LORD IN THE MESSAGE THE ANGELS CARRIED

1. Good tidings   (Luke 2:10)

a) Of great joy
b) To all people   (Luke 2:10)

2. Content of the Tidings

a) A Saviour had been born
b) It is Christ the Lord   (Luke 2:11)

3. A sign from the Lord

a) A Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths
b) Lying in a manger   (Luke 2:12)

GLORY IN THE ANGELIC CHOIR

1. A multitude of the heavenly host

a) They appeared
b) They began to sing   (Luke 2:13)

2. They were praising God

a) Glory to God in the highest
b) On earth, peace and goodwill toward men   (Luke 2:14)
