WHAT IS WAITING ON THE LORD?

1. It reflects a correct servant-Master relationship

2. It reflects trust in the Lord’s leading

3. It reflects understanding and obedience

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO WAIT ON THE LORD?

1. It takes patience

2. It takes discipline

3. It takes faith

4. It takes perseverance

WHAT DOES ONE WAIT FOR?

1. The Lord to show His ways   (Psalm 25:4a)

2. The Lord to teach His paths   (Psalm 25:4b)

3. The Lord to lead in His truth   (Psalm 25:5a)

4. The Lord to guide in justice   (Psalm 25:9)

5. The Lord to show His covenant   (Psalm 25:14b)

6. The Lord to deliver from enemies   (Psalm 25:19-20)

A CLEAR EXAMPLE OF WAITING UPON THE LORD

1. Anointed to be the next king of Israel   (1 Samuel 16:13)

a) Spirit of God upon David from that day on
b) But it would be a long while yet before he was going to ascend the throne

2. Significant growth of David noted

a) A skilful musician   (1 Samuel 16:18)
b) A mighty man of valour   (1 Samuel 16:18)
