a) To speak of His lovingkindness in the morning ( Psalm 92:2a )

b) To speak of His faithfulness every night ( Psalm 92:2b )

(II) REASONS FOR THIS PRACTICE

1. The work of God in our life (Psalm 92:4a)

2. The gladness that Gods gives as we understand God’s work in us (Psalm 92:4a)

3. The confidence of being triumphant because of our understanding (Psalm 92:4b)

4. The strength (horn) that God gives (Psalm 92:10a)

5. The anointing that God has given (Psalm 92:10b)

(III) SUSTAINING THE PRACTICE OF GIVING THANKS

1. Sustained by knowledge

a) Knowledge of God’s works ( Psalm 92:5a )

b) Knowledge of God’s thoughts ( Psalm 92:5b )

2. Sustained by faith

a) That God has planted us

b) That God will look after what He has planted ( Psalm 92:13 )

3. Sustained by Hope

a) That the righteous will flourish ( Psalm 92:13b )

b) That they will continue to be fruitful in old age ( Psalm 92:14a )

c) That they will still be fresh ( Psalm 92:14b )

4. Sustained by service

a) To declare that the Lord is upright ( Psalm 92:15a )

b) To declare that the Lord is our Rock ( Psalm 92:15b )

c) To declare that there is no unrighteousness in Him ( Psalm 92:15c )
