1. The eyes of Israel were dim with age   (Genesis 48:10)

2. Joseph’s two sons were brought to Israel   (Genesis 48:10)

a) He kissed them

b) And embraced them

3. His moving statement   (Genesis 48:11)

a) I had not thought to see your face

b) But in fact, God has also shown me your offspring

THE BLESSING OF A GRANDFATHER

Genesis 48:15-16

1. Extolling God

a) Acknowledging the God of Abraham and Isaac

b) He was the God before whom they walked

c) He was the God who fed him all his life

d) He had sent His Angel who had redeemed him from all evil

2. Blessing of the grandchildren

a) Bless the lads

b) Let my name be named upon them

c) And the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac

d) Let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth

3. The names of the two grandchildren

a) Manasseh

b) Ephraim

c) They became two of the twelve tribes of Israel

THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB

1. He is the Ultimate Source of blessing

2. He is the One who will hear and answer prayers

3. He is the One who will bring about the actual blessings
