APPRAISAL OF PRACTICE OF SINGING PRAISES TO THE LORD

1. It is good to sing praises to the LORD   (Psalm 147:1a)

2. It is pleasant   (Psalm 147:1b)

3. Praise is beautiful   (Psalm 147:1c)

OFFERING PRAISE TO GOD FOR WHAT HE IS DOING FOR MANKIND

1. Jerusalem

He builds up Jerusalem   (Psalm 147:2a)

2. Outcasts

He gathers the outcasts of Israel   (Psalm 147:2b)

3. Broken-hearted

He heals the broken-hearted   (Psalm 145:3a)

4. The wounded

He binds up wounds   (Psalm 145:3b)

5. The humble

He lifts up the humble   (Psalm 145:6a)

6. The wicked

He casts the wicked to the ground (Psalm 145:6b)

OFFERING AWED- PRAISE TO GOD

1. For His greatness

a) He counts the stars   (Psalm 145:4a)
b) He calls them by name   (Psalm 145:4b)

2. For the profound Being of God that He is

a) Great and mighty   (Psalm 145:5a)
b) His understanding is infinite   (Psalm 145:5b)

OFFERING THANKFUL PRAISE FOR THE LORD’S BLESSINGS

1. Singing must be done with thanksgiving   (Psalm 145:7a)

2.Deep appreciation for all that He is doing for all the creature on earth   (Psalm 147:8)

3. The blessing of the LORD

a) On those who fear Him   (Psalm 47:11a)
b) On those who hope in His mercy   (Psalm 147:11b)
c) For extending His blessing on children   (Psalm 147:13b)
d) He grants peace   (Psalm 147:12a)
e) He gives the finest of grain   (Psalm 147:12b)
