THINGS PEOPLE GLORY IN

1. The Wise

They glory in their wisdom   (Jeremiah 9:23)

2. The Mighty

They glory in their might   (Jeremiah 9:23)

3. The Rich

They glory in their riches   (Jeremiah 9:23)

WHAT WE SHOULD GLORY IN

1. Our knowledge of God   (Jeremiah 9:24)

2. Our understanding of God   (Jeremiah 9:24)

3. Our appreciation of what God delights in   (Jeremiah 9:24)

a) Exercising lovingkindness
b) Judgment
c) Righteousness

WHY SHOULD THERE BE THIS FOCUS?

1. The knowledge of God or the lack of it will affect our life

2. The lack of knowledge led to the lack of regard

3. The lack of regard for the Lord affected the life of the nation

THE EXPRESSIONS OF SIN WHEN PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW THE LORD

“They do not know Me” Jeremiah 9:3

1. Given to hurtful lies   (Jeremiah 9:3)

2. Not valiant for truth   (Jeremiah 9:3)

3. Proceeding from evil to evil   (Jeremiah 9:3)

4. Practice of rank deceit   (Jeremiah 9:7-8)

5. Forsaking of the Law   (Jeremiah 9:13)

6. Disobedience   (Jeremiah 9:13)

7. Following the dictates of the heart   (Jeremiah 9:14)

DEADLY CONSEQUENCES AWAIT THOSE WHO CONTNUE IN SIN

1. Bitterness in life (“wormwood and gall”)   (Jeremiah 9:15)
