THE GREAT SUFFERING OF THE MESSIAH

1. He is despised and rejected of men   (Isaiah 53:3a)

2. A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief   (Isaiah 53:3b)

3. He was despised and we did not esteem Him   (Isaiah 53:3c)

A VICARIOUS SUFFERING

1. Surely He has borne our sorrows   (Isaiah 53:4a)

2. And carried our sorrows   (Isaiah 53:4b)

3. Yet we esteemed Him   (Isaiah 53:4c)

a) Stricken
b) Smitten by God
c) Afflicted

4. He was wounded for our transgressions   (Isaiah 53:5a)

5. He was bruised for our iniquities   (Isaiah 53:5b)

6. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him   (Isaiah 53:5c)

7. And by His stripes we are healed   (Isaiah 53:5d)

8. Made His soul an offering for sin   (Isaiah 53:10c)

9. He shall bear their iniquities   (Isaiah 53:11c)

He bore the sin of many   (Isaiah 53:12d)

10. He poured out His soul in death   (Isaiah 53:12c)

THE MIGHTY CONSEQUENCES OF THE SUFFERING OF THE MESSIAH

1. His seed

He shall see His seed   (Isaiah 53:10d)

2. Pleasure of the LORD

The pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand   (Isaiah 53:10e)

3. Justification of many

By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many   (Isaiah 53:11b)

4. A portion with the great

I will divide Him a portion with the great   (Isaiah 53:12a)
