a) Five churches were warned

b) If they did not repent, they would cease to be a church

THE CHURCH OF SARDIS

1. The Lord Jesus Christ as the Assayer

a) He has the Seven Spirits of God

Meaning: The Fulness of the Spirit

b) He has the seven stars

Meaning: The stars were the churches
He holds every church in His hand

2. The work of the Church of Sardis evaluated

a) It has a name that it is alive   (Revelation 3:1)

b) But it is in fact dead   (Revelation 3:1)

c) There were some things still remaining

i) They are weak

ii) They are about to die

iii) Works not perfect   (Revelation 3:2)

3. A Word of Admonishment

a) Remember

i) How you received

ii) How you heard   (Revelation 3:3)

b) Repent

c) Hold fast

d) Be watchful   (Revelation 3:3)

4. A strong exhortation

To be an overcomer   (Revelation 3:5)
