THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS

1. This Law is able to make us free from the law of sin and death   (Romans 8:2)

2. How does this Law of the Spirit work?

a) The Spirit of God must indwell us   (Romans 8:9)

b) He gives life   (Romans 8:10-11)

c) This life affects our mortal body positively   (Romans 8:11)

d) He leads us as the children of God   (Romans 8:14)

THE CHALLENGE TO RELATE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

1. What we should not do

a) Do not walk in the flesh   (Romans 8:4)

b) Do not set your mind
On the things of the flesh   (Romans 8:5)

c) Do not be carnally-minded   (Romans 8:6)

2. What we should do

a) Walk according to the Spirit   (Romans 8:4)

b) To set the mind on things of the Spirit   (Romans 8:5)

c) To put to death the deeds of the flesh   (Romans 8:13)

A SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE

1. The Spirit of Adoption   (Romans 8:15)

a) Prayer

b) Relating to God as Abba, Father   (Romans 8:15)

2. The Witness of the Holy Spirit

a) He bears witness with our spirit   (Romans 8:16)

b) He helps us bear fruit   (Romans 8:23)

c) He helps us in our weaknesses   (Romans 8:26)
