INTRODUCTION

1. How God’s presence is seen in our life

a. His power
b. His provision
c. His protection
d. His blessing

2. But God can also withdraw His presence

a. What would we be left with?
b. There could be many physical blessings, but what if God’s presence is not there?

SERIOUS SIN CAN CAUSE GOD TO WITHDRAW HIS PRESENCE FROM US

1. The problem of failing to comprehend sin the way we should

Example: Aaron and the people of Israel   (Exodus 32:1 – 6)
a. They were not sensitive to sin
b. They did things that were sinful
c. They did not stop themselves from it

2. Learning to comprehend to sin in our life

Example: Moses
a. To see sin   (Exodus 32:19)
b. To sense sin   (Exodus 32:19)
c. To be sensitive to sin   (Exodus 32:19)

AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM OF SIN

1. Deal with sin thoroughly   (Exodus 32:20 – 29)

2. Seek God all over again

a. For His forgiveness   (Exodus 32:32)
b. For Him to restore His presence to us   (Exodus 32:13 – 14)

3. God’s answer to us

a. He will show us His grace   (Exodus 33:16, 17)
b. His presence will go with us   (Exodus 33:14)
c. He will consider us His people yet again   (Exodus 33:13)

ENCOURAGEMENT TO ALL TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM OF SIN

1. Never allow sin to cause God to withdraw His presence in our life

2. Learn to be sensitive to the problem of sin

3. Bring your sins to God and seek Him earnestly

a. For forgiveness
b. For restoration of His presence
