ii. The internal (our response)

b. Our internal weakness can cause us to be affected by the external

2. Personal struggles with problems in his life

a. Background – a servant of the Lord (v17)

b. Faced external challenges in life (v19-24)

c. Allowed the external challenges to affect his soul

i. Clinging to the dust (v25)

ii. Melting from heaviness (v28)

3. Prayer as an answer

a. Pray to the Lord

b. Things to pray for:

i. Restoration (v25, 28)

ii. Dealing with sin problems (v29)

iii. For the Word of God to be given (v25-29)

4. Response of the psalmist

a. Able to choose the way of truth (v30)

b. Able to lay God’s judgments before him (v30)

c. Able to cling onto God’s testimonies (v31)

d. Determined to run the course of His commandments (v32)

a. Seek the Lord in prayer

c. Watch how God can give us special strength through prayer and the Word
