(I) THE PLAGUES REVIEWED

1. Water to blood (Exodus 7:14-25)


2. Frogs (Exodus 8:1-15)


3. Lice (Exodus 8:16-19)


4. Flies (Exodus 8:20-32)

 

(II) THE FIFTH PLAGUE: PESTILENCE

Exodus 9:1-7

Disease on livestock (Exodus 9:1-7)

1. God’s word to be given to Pharaoh

a) Let My people go

b) That they may serve Me (Exodus 9:1)


2. Word of warning

a) If you refuse to let them go and still hold them (Exodus 9:2)

b) Behold the hand of the LORD will be on:-

i) Your cattle

ii) The horses

iii The donkeys

iv) The camels

v) The oxen

vi) The sheep

c) A severe pestilence (Exodus 9:3)


3. A Difference will be made

a) Set apart (Exodus 8:22)

b) A difference will be made again (Exodus 9:4)


4. Consequences

a) All the livestock of the Egyptians died (Exodus 9:6)

b) No livestock of the children of Israel died (Exodus 9:6)

 

5. Checking by the Pharaoh

The above facts were confirmed (Exodus 9:7)


6. State of the heart of the Pharaoh

a) His heart became hard

b) He did not let the people go (Exodus 9:7)

(III) THE SIXTH PLAGUE: BOILS

Exodus 9:8-12

1. Instructions to Moses and Aaron

a) Handful of ashes from a furnace

b) Scatter it toward the heavens in the sight of the Pharaoh (Exodus 9:8)

2. Boils threatened (Exodus 9:9)

a) Man

b) Beast

c) Throughout all the land of Egypt

3. The plague of Boils

a) On man and beast

b) Boils on the magicians too (Exodus 9:11)

4. The state of the heart of Pharaoh

God hardened his heart and he did not take heed (Exodus 9:12)
