A STRONG WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Exodus 14:13-14

1. Do not be afraid

2. Stand still

3. See the salvation of the LORD

4. The LORD will fight for you

5. You shall hold your peace

6. They will not see the Egyptians again

THE LORD’S WORD TO MOSES

1. Why do you cry out to Me?   (Exodus 14:15)

2. Tell the children of Israel to go forward   (Exodus 14:15)

3. Lift up your rod and stretch our hand over the sea and divide it   (Exodus 14:16)

WITH REFERENCE TO THE EGYPTIANS

1. I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians

2. I will gain glory

3. The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD   (Exodus 14:17-18)

PROTECTION OF THE LORD

1. The Means

a) The Angel of God
b) The Pillar of Cloud
c) The Pillar of Fire

2. The Method

a) They stood between Israel and the Egyptians
b) Pillars of Cloud and Fire fully operational

3. The consequences

The Egyptians could not come nearer   (Exodus 14:19-20)

THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA

1. The waters were divided

2. The children of Israel crossed over on dry ground

3. Walls of water   (Exodus 14:21-22)

THE PURSUIT OF THE EGYPTIANS

1. The Egyptians pursued them

2. They were in trouble

a) The wheels of the chariots came off
b) Difficulty in driving the chariots

3. They wanted to flee

4. They recognised that the LORD was fighting for His people   (Exodus 14:23-25)

THE DEFEAT OF THE EGYPTIANS

1. Moses was told to stretch out his hands over the Sea

2. The Egyptian army perished when the Sea returned and covered the chariots

3. The Egyptians were soundly defeated   (Exodus 14:26-28)

DIVINE DELIVERANCE

1. The LORD saved Israel

2. The children of Israel feared the LORD and believed in Him and Moses   (Exodus 14:29-31)
