A Reasoned Approach To Joy

Young people, do you know how to find joy in your life? One of the ways is to have a reasoned approach. This was a principle of life that David practised. He learned to find great reasons to significantly rejoice in.

“Therefore my heart greatly rejoices
And with my song I will praise Him.”

Psalm 28:7

The conjunction “therefore” infers for us that a reasoning process had been done in order to bring about a definite response. David responded to the Lord with great joy as a result of logically thinking through what He had done for him. His heart deeply appreciated the Lord’s hand in his life. With deep appreciation, there came this great sense of joy within his heart. With great joy, the Psalmist sought to offer heart-felt praise to the Lord. Let’s also seek to find great reasons to rejoice in the Lord.

Having Great Reasons To Rejoice In

What were the reasons that David rejoiced in?

1. The Reality Of God Hearing Prayers

“Because He has heard the voice of my supplications!”
Psalm 28:6

The Psalmist had gone through a most difficult time. There was a time when the Lord did not seem to be hearing his prayer as wickedness abounded. David did not despair but persevered in prayer and cried out to the Lord, and the voice of his supplications was heard. He experienced the reality of the Lord hearing his prayers.\

2. The Reality Of God Helping Us

“My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped”
Psalm 28:7

The Psalmist also trusted in the Lord for help. Once again, he actually experienced the divine help of the Lord. There was the reality of divine intervention in his life. The Lord was truly his strength and protection. He was his shield from those who did evil and wickedness. God’s help to him was most real.

Greatly Rejoicing For Prayers Answered

Young people, let’s make it a habit to rejoice and give thanks for answered prayers. We have been praying for our dear Pastor Charles that he might recover from his Bell’s palsy problem. We want to give all praise to God for the way our Pastor has been recovering. His face is almost back to normal. May our hearts be filled with deep appreciation for the way God has heard our prayers. The Lord had been most gracious to Pastor. Let’s greatly rejoice in the Lord’s hand of blessing. May we also be able to say “Therefore, my heart greatly rejoices”.
