The Implanted Word Saves Our Souls

The word of God has the ability of being implanted into our lives. Very often, when people listen to the “seed” of God’s word, they do not give it the kind of regard they should. Soon that word from the Lord is forgotten. Young people, let’s have the highest regard for God’s word. When we allow the word of God to be implanted into our lives, it is able to save our soul.

“The implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”
James 1:21

Our soul needs to be delivered from all filthiness and sin. We need to cleanse our lives and souls part by part. The word of God is also known as “the perfect law of liberty” (James 1:25). It is perfect and it is able to set us free from our sins and fears.

Getting Down To Implanting The Word Of God

How can we go about allowing the word of God to be implanted into our lives?

1. Receiving The Word Of God Well

“Receive with meekness the implanted word…”
James 1:21

The way we receive the word of God matters to how it is implanted in our lives. We are not to just casually receive it. We are to receive it with reverence and humility before the Lord. The word of God is alive and powerful. We must learn to receive it with the utmost regard.

2. Remembering The Word Of God

“But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer…”
James 1:25

A problem that many people face with regard to the truths of the word of God is that people tend to forget it after hearing it. Our challenge is that when we look at God’s word, we must remember and continue in it.

3. Responding With Obedience To The Word Of God

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
James 1:22

Furthermore, we must not just remember the word of God, we must do something about it. We must change. We are commanded to practise the word of God in our lives. Our challenge is to obey the Scriptures and not just be hearers only.

The Lord’s Blessing In All That We Do

“But a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
James 1:25

When we are doers of the word, the Lord’s blessing will be upon us. In all that we do, the Lord’s hand will be there. May we be challenged to implant the word of God so much more into our lives.
