The Power That Raised Jesus From The Dead

What kind of power raised Jesus from the dead? It is a divine power that goes beyond what we can ever imagine. The Apostle Paul wrote in the text of the book of Ephesians of how this power is an exceedingly great power.

“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places”
Ephesians 1:19-20

As Christians, we can discover the surpassing greatness of His dynamic power toward us. This power works according to the full extent of His might that can strengthen us in all things. It was this power that worked in our Lord Jesus and raised Him from the dead. It is also this power that created the universe. It is a power that is limitless and awesome. This exceedingly great power is also made available to us. Our part is to discover it in our life.

Discovering The Greatness Of God’s Power Toward Us

How can we go about discovering the greatness of His power in our life?

1. It Takes Faith

“Toward us who believe”
Ephesians 1:19

This power is already made available to those who believe in the Lord. As we continue in faith in the Lord Jesus, we will discover the greatness of God’s power bit by bit. It can change us individually and empower us corporately as a Church. Our challenge is to continue to increase our faith in the Lord and His word.

2. It Takes Prayer

“Making mention of you in our prayers”
Ephesians 1:16

Paul constantly prayed for the Ephesians. As he saw their faith and love for the brethren, he prayed for them that they would grow further. One of the things he prayed for was for them to know the exceeding greatness of His power. It is through prayer that we can discover this abounding power of God.

3. It Takes The Enlightenment Of The Spirit Of God

“May give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened”
Ephesians 1:17-18

Paul prayed that the Father of glory would give to the Ephesian Church the spirit of wisdom and revelation as they grow in the knowledge of Him. He prayed that the Lord would give enlightenment to their minds and hearts. Knowledge and enlightenment is power. As we know the hope of our calling and the riches of our inheritance, we will also know the power of His resurrection. Let’s pray for the Spirit’s illumination to God’s wonderful truths.
