Awareness Of How God Has Already Made Us Strong

Going through exams and stressful situations at work can be most challenging. Young people, we do not need to feel forlorn and lost in going through them alone. As part of the family of God, we can go through them together. There is spiritual strength available for us to stand by each other and to pray for each other. In the text of Psalm 68, the Psalmist wrote of how the Lord as King is truly mighty in battle. He is seen as a victorious and powerful King who reigns over all the nations. It is this God who also has given strength to His people.

“Your God has commanded your strength”
Psalm 68:28

God had made the command that we are to be strong. There is this innate strength within each one of us to be victorious in life. Young people, let’s be aware that God has already strengthened us and we must seek to use that strength.

Asking God For Further Strength

“Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us.”
Psalm 68:28

The Psalmist also sought to pray further for spiritual strength. He wrote about the future Messianic Kingdom that will come and how all kings and nations will submit to the Messianic King. What a glorious day that would be! However, we need to wait for that day to come. It can be difficult at times to wait for the Lord to come. Our challenge is to pray for the spiritual strength that is needed to press on. Young people, let’s learn to pray for that inner man strength to keep going (Ephesians 3:16).

Awed By The Strength Of The Lord

“The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people.”
Psalm 68:35

When we pray for strength, we can see how awesome God and His strength are. The God of Israel can provide strength and power for the whole nation of Israel and more. Can you imagine how everyone can have this strength from the Lord? The text of Isaiah 40:30-31 explained that those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. Even young people can be faint and weary in what they do, but those who trust in Him will find the strength to keep going. Let’s be awed by the immense strength of the Lord.

Ascribing Strength To The Lord

“Ascribe strength to God;
His excellence is over Israel,
And His strength is in the clouds.”

Psalm 68:34

When we see the strength and power of God, we can’t help but give Him praise. The Psalmist made a call for people to ascribe strength to the Lord. The Lord’s strength amazingly reaches to the clouds. There is truly no limit to His power and strength. The Psalmist could see the excellence of the Lord all over Israel through His strengthening. Young people, we too can find excellence in all we do through the Lord’s strengthening. Let’s praise the Lord for His strength when He strengthens us in all that we seek to achieve for Him. Let’s give Him the honour for strengthening us as His people.
