Praying For The Lord To Strengthen Us

Youth Conference 2008 has just ended. Many of us who went for conference can say that we had a great time of studying from the Scriptures. Much has been taught about being strong. Our challenge is to pray that the Lord would truly strengthen us according to His word.

“Strengthen me according to Your word.”
Psalm 119:28

We have learned about the potential of strength that we can have in our lives. Let’s pray with faith that the Lord would truly strengthen us according to His truths. After conference, there will be times when we may encounter times of weariness and stress. Let’s pray that the Lord would grant us His grace and strength according to His will.

Dealing With Our Sin Problems

“Remove from me the way of lying”
Psalm 119:29

The Psalmist saw how he had to deal with the problem of lying. There were times when he felt spiritually dry because he allowed the sin of lying to become part of his life. Habitual sins can cause us to wane in strength. We need to deal with our sins as well. Maybe we have an addiction problem or a lying problem. Let’s pray that the Lord would cleanse us from our habitual sin problems.

Choosing The Way Of Truth

“I have chosen the way of truth;
Your judgments I have laid before me.”

Psalm 119:30

Spiritual strength comes when we learn to choose the way of truth. We have learnt many new principles from the Scriptures. As we remember these truths, we are to place them in front of us. We are to lay them before our paths. The word of God will help us choose the right way rather than the wrong way. Let’s have the faith to choose the way of truth rather than lying.

Continuing In The Word Of God

“I will run the course of your commandments,
For you shall enlarge my heart.”

Psalm 119:32

The Psalmist determined that he would run the full course of the Scriptures. Obeying the Scriptures is not something that you will only do at a point of time. It is something which we must exercise the faith to follow through with. Our challenge is to run through the full course of the commandments. Let’s obey the Lord fully rather than partially. We should not pick and choose what we want to obey. The challenge is to obey the Lord fully. When we do this, the Lord gives us a great sense of assurance and strength in our hearts. Let’s seek to continue in what we have learned.
