The Example Of Paul And Team In Sharing The Gospel Well

When it comes to the spreading of the gospel, the Apostle Paul was most exemplary. No other apostle was able to preach the gospel so extensively as Paul did. When he was in the city of Thessalonica, he preached the gospel most effectively. Many of the devout Greeks and leading women were persuaded by his teaching of the gospel. They began to follow Paul and Silas. How did Paul go about sharing the gospel so well?

1. Sharing Well-Reasoned, Scripture Centred Words

“For our gospel did not come to you in word only”
1 Thessalonians 1:5

“For three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead”
Acts 17:2-3

Paul was most skilful in the way he presented the gospel. His words were well reasoned out from the Scriptures. He expounded and established that the Lord Jesus was the Christ who had to suffer and to rise from the dead. He shared the gospel with well crafted and Christ centred words from the Scriptures.

2. Sharing In The Power Of The Holy Spirit

“But also in power, and in the Holy Spirit”
1 Thessalonians 1:5

As Paul sought to lift up the Lord Jesus, there came tremendous power. He shared the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual work cannot be done by mere statements of words. It has to be done in the power of the Spirit. It is His power that will convict the hearts of men. When we share the gospel of Christ in all its fullness, there will also come power from the Spirit to convict and touch hearts.

3. Sharing With Much Assurance From One’s Life

“And in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.”
1 Thessalonians 1:5

Paul shared the gospel with great confidence. He did not just share a message. He preached a message that had touched and changed his own life. People could see the kind of men that he and his team were as they preached. Paul had tremendous assurance and confidence in the gospel. We too must have this as we share.

The Impact Of Sharing The Gospel Well

What was the impact of Paul’s sharing of the gospel on the Thessalonians? They received his word with joy. They believed in Christ. They turned from worshipping idols to serving God. When we share the gospel effectively, it can make a big impact on people’s lives. Let’s follow Paul’s example in sharing the gospel well.
