Thanking God For A New Batch Of Camp Officers

We want to thank God for another successful Junior Camp. Every camp that is blessed by the Lord should not be taken for granted. Our hearts should be filled with great joy for His grace and blessings. The camp ran smoothly without any hiccups. Everything went as planned and the Lord brought a special sense of joy to the hearts of all the children through the lessons they learnt and especially the sketches that they saw. We want to specially thank God for the Pine Tree Boys and Girls in leading this camp. It was not too long ago that I was looking after and teaching some of them when they were campers at Junior Camp. And now they have been given the privilege to serve at Junior Camp 2010. They have done us proud by serving the Lord well. We truly thank God for another generation of Junior camp officers being trained and discipled to serve Him.

The Challenge To Continue In Serving The Lord

The challenge for all of us is to not just start well in serving the Lord, but to continue to do so. The commitment to teach children is not an easy endeavour. How can we continue to serve the Lord with the same zeal and passion year after year?

1. Cultivating A Depth Of Love For The Lord

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.”
Deuteronomy 6:5

Moses wrote of how the Lord’s people must seek to serve with a depth of love for Him. We are to love the Lord with our whole heart and with all that is within us. Let’s cultivate a depth of love for God that we may serve Him with all our strength.

2. Cultivating A Depth Of Regard For The Lord

“You shall fear the Lord your God and serve Him”
Deuteronomy 6:13

Moses also challenged the Israelites of the need to fear the Lord always. It is with the highest regard for God and His word that we must seek to serve Him. When we have the right kind of fear for God, we will continue to be His servants.

3. Having A Depth Of Commitment In Keeping The Word Of God

“You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you. And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with you”
Deuteronomy 6:17-18

We are to also serve the Lord with a life that diligently keeps His word. We are to honour the Lord’s word and keep it close to our hearts that we may do that which is right and good in His sight. Let’s be committed to keeping His word and to serve Him always that it may be well with us always.
