A New Series Of Articles For 2007

Are you still seeking first the kingdom of God? It has been about a month since Youth Conference 06 ended and many have gone back to school. Have you learned to practise all the truths that the Pastors taught with regard to seeking first the kingdom of God? Perhaps we are still struggling to imbibe and internalise them. As such, it would be good for us to consider this topic for our new series of Youth Walk articles for this year. Since we have heard so much from the Scriptures about what it means to seek the kingdom of God, we may ask, “Is there more to learn about the Kingdom?” The answer is a resounding “Yes”. There is so much more to learn about it. So much so, that it will take us the whole year to do this. I am personally excited about writing this new series of articles, and I hope you will learn much from them.

Learning About The Kingdom Of God

From the New Testament, we can discover much about the truths of the Kingdom of God.

1. Through the direct teachings of Jesus with regards to the Kingdom of God.

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”
Matthew 6:33

2. Through the parables of the Kingdom of God.

“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed'”
Matthew 13:31

3. Through observing the example of our Lord Jesus.

“But He said to them, ‘I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.'”
Luke 4:43

4. Through the further expounding of the kingdom of God in the Epistles.

“For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 14:17

The concept of God’s kingdom is deep and extensive. Let’s seek to learn more about it.

Making It A Personal Priority To Seek The Kingdom

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33

As we understand more about the kingdom, let’s make it our priority to seek it and the Lord’s righteousness. Would you join me each week, as we learn about His kingdom and how we can apply it to our lives? The Lord has promised His blessings on our lives. Let’s seek to make the kingdom of God our foremost occupation.
